Corazón is an exuberant young singer/songwriter and TV host.

IMG_4862Corazón’s first TV appearance was as part of a choir selected to perform every Friday night on Malta’s most popular TV show, Xarabank, hosted by Peppi Azzopardi. Still a 6th form student, Corazón had never imagined that this could be her calling. However, observing and familiarizing herself with what happened behind the scenes, she started to develop a marked interest in television as a medium.

Today, Corazón has established herself as an able TV host becoming a household name on the Maltese islands. Corazon’s most marked achievement has been the hosting of TVPM, Malta’s National TV Station’s afternoon show for 2 consecutive years. At 25 years of age, she was the youngest presenter in the history of Maltese television to have been trusted with such the responsibility of hosting such a show, first alongside Peter Carbonaro and then, alone.

In the meantime, Corcorazon-1azón’s musical career is also flourishing. She has been chosen as a finalist in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest for the past 4 consecutive years. Her last entry, ‘Secretly’ was both written and composed by herself.

Corazón is very passionate about the Maltese language. Her original compositions in Maltese have led her to win the Festival Għanja tal-Poplu 3 times with her songs ‘Hawn Jien’, ‘Mill-Għajnejn ta’ Tifla’ and ‘Tal-Aħħar’ which was sung as a duet with Walter Micallef. On the 11th January 2014, she launched her debut album of original songs in Maltese entitled ‘Hawn Jien’ comprising 11 songs written by herself, arranged by Dominic Galea and produced by Manolito Galea at Lito’s Place. The graphic concept and design of the album was created by Ivan Sciberras. All copies of the album were sold out 9 months after its launching and Corazón has launched a 2nd reprint of the album which included changes in both content and design. The 2nd edition of the album was launched during a live concert of songs in Maltese heeding from the same album, which concert was   held at the Casino Maltese in Valletta. All tickets for this concert were sold out a week before the date.

Corazón also holds a doctorate degree in law and when she is not on stage, she can be found exercising her profession at her family’s Notarial practice. A striking contrast perhaps, but Corazón finds that balance is key and through careful time-management she can keep up with her many passions. One thing is for sure, for Corazón there are no half measures. ‘If a thing is worth doing, it is worth doing well,’ she believes, and uses those words to help her strive for excellence in all that she sets her mind to.
